About This Project
The Goucher Virtual Art Exhibition serves as a replacement of the Goucher Student Artist Exhibition, originally intended to be performed during Alumni Weekend. Although the event can no longer happen in a physical space, its core goal - to represent the diversity of art produced by current Goucher students - can be readily accomplished in a virtual space.
We recognize the necessity to create a platform in which all art forms have importance and to promote the collaboration of artists within the Center for Dance, Music, and Theater, the Center for Art and Media, the Center for Contemporary and Creative Writing, and beyond. Seeking to create a space where all voices are heard, this virtual exhibition aims to include work from all artistic disciplines. We hope that this website will illustrate the thriving arts community at Goucher, even amid the struggles of social distancing and isolation.
As numerous showcases, events, and performances this semester were abruptly canceled, we encourage you to submit excerpts and images of these projects so that they can still be admired and appreciated in an online space. Additionally, we hope that many of you will use this exhibition to showcase any creative projects you have undertaken while practicing social distancing.
